A journey into the realm of Gods, Goddesses and the human heart

Here we are already, at the last New Moon of the year! and in the sign of Sagittarius, as it corresponds with the month of December. The next New Moon will be on January 1, 2014 in the sign of Capricorn.
The sign of Sagittarius, ruled by the largest planet in the solar system, Jupiter, compels us to leave the neighborhood, to look beyond the boundaries of the family and the culture in which we were born. Adventure, discovering Nature and the Cosmos and our connection with all this, are Sagittarian expressions.
The image of the “backpacker” who throws himself into unknown lands, only with a bag on his back, open to whatever the environment might pose in his way, is a Sagittarian image. Verses from Antonio Machado, (who was born with Mars in Sagittarius and the Sun in Leo, with Mercury and Venus in Cancer, in square to Jupiter in the 9 House, which was also in opposition

to Neptune)say: “Walker there is no road, the road is made by walking…” convey the Jupiterian spirit, always in search, concerning himself, curious about far away places, stepping away from the familiar, from our culture conditioning, intrigued by philosophy, by what we know without having studied it, that which inspires us to study.

Sagittarius makes us look towards “the beyond” with the hope of discovering things, more interesting than the everyday realities. Saggitarius appreciates what he or she has been taught, but the mind wonders beyond all that. It comes after Scorpio, where we have made a journey to the interior of our psyche, and invites us to look beyond the confines of our daily reality. Sagittarians love other cultures, discover new ways of being, eating, dressing, new beliefs. Even those Sagittarius who do not travel, which are few, are in contact with other cultures, whether by the neighborhood where they were born, work, school, etc.
The new moon in Sagittarius come the end of the year, when we plan our resolutions for next year. What we have left to learn, to see, to know. And this lunation in particular in squareto Chiron in Pisces and Pallas in Virgo, and in Trine to Uranus in Aries, drives us to action in search of what’s new and looking for change. There is a struggle to leave behind the apathy and disenchantment and in order to “do something about it”.
Pallas, particularly seems to whisper in his ear: “without action there is no change”. “Show yourself and claim your rights,” says Uranus, and Chiron, show us that it is precisely from the most vulnerable part of our being, there where we feel wounded, where we limp, where can the answer for healing emanates from. Finding meaning and purpose to our pain, which comes from the mere fact of having been born and having separated from the sacred, may be the answer to our healing process. Without awareness, it is not possible to stop the pain. Becoming conscious is the best medicine we have. Much more effective and durable than Prosac and Tranquimasin.
Sagittarius is naturally in square to Pisces and Virgo, two signs that are most identified with the victim. Sagittarius does not support the attitude of defeat and inaction of the victim, since this gives power to the other, to any other, to life, to Fate, to the place where we are, the Government. “Everything and everyone are to blame, for me not being happy” – Sagittarius is the energy required to get out of it. Look out, watch others, looks at the world and learn. Sagittarius is more interested in the different forms of perception of reality, says Stephanie Austin, his search for ‘Truth’ and ‘Meaning’ in everything is what makes this sign indispensable in our evolution.
Jupiter, the ruler of Sagittarius and Pisces, is in retrograde motion until 6 March 2014, but continuous to form a wide Trine to Chiron and Saturn, until June 2014, therefore some hope of improvement, possibilities, solutions, is in the air, and for many this may be the year of their lives. Jupiter entering Leo on July 16 this coming year that begins within 30 days, will bring to the Fire signs, good well deserved rest from difficulties and harsh resolutions that Saturn in Scorpio, has brought to their table, especially to Leo.
Use the energy from this lunation, to expand your horizons, to take the risk to get out into the unknown, looking for what is beyond what you can see with your eyes. The Comet Ision reminds us that there are things that come from dimensions and spaces that we can only imagine, with a power and an energy that we can’t even calculate fully. There are other things beyond the neighborhood, open your eyes and decide to learn something new, something that will allow you to compare and understand, if what you have is what you want. You will be surprised.

Just after this historic event of the 12-12-12, comes the new moon in Sagittarius, and I may say, at a perfect time for those Sagittarian energies to flow. Perfect in a sense that it coincides with this “almost alignment” of the Winter Solstice for the Northern Hemisphere and the Summer solstice for the Southern Hemisphere, with the Galactic Center of our Milky Way. This lunation at 21º Sagittarius conjuncts Juno, an asteroid that relates to the feminine power, the symbol of the ‘wife’, Queen of the House, which is at 27º Sagittarius exactly aligned with Galactic Center, also at about 27 degrees of Sag.
And what does it all means? One thing is certain, there are less and less of us nowadays who say: “well, in the end, nothing will change, everything will remain the same, in a long run”. WRONG!. EVERYTHING is changing because everything is plummeting, our financial system, our concept of religion, our educational system, everything is clamoring for that complete collapse so that we can rise again, renovated, improved and new.
This is a new moon in Sagittarius, so the theme of education seems extremely relevant, and I wonder until when we’re going to have to endure the coarcion of the development of the brains of our children with this outdated educational system, which continues to put emphases in high grades over comprehension and hard work, which cries out for change. Until when, we are going to push our children to study this array of soulless professions, thus curtailing the development of their own talents. Until when are parents going to give more value to what is socially respected and accepted, against the developing of their children own talents? We are no longer in the industrial era, when many doctors, lawyers, engineers and architects were needed. Nor we are in the 1980s, when every youngster went to study Marketing and Business Administration. How could so many young people, want to be a business manager or an economist? Until when will we put creativity at the bottom of the list of possibilities for our children?
We seem to continue to apology if one of our children want to be musicians, painters or dancers or sculptors or film directors or actors, as if each of these words were a bad word. “My son wants to be a dancer”, said to me one mother, “but what future is he going to have with this?” and it made me wonder: “What future awaits anyone if we try to be something other that what we are?” HOW CAN WE BE PUSHED TO BE OR DO SOMETHING THAT IS NOT WHAT WE CAN OR HAVE COME HERE TO DO? And so we are in this world where Valium, the Prosac reign supreme. And even before the absolute evidence of Hollywood and Bollywood, and many thousands of smaller places where not necessarily famous, yet successful musicians, dancers, painters, film directors, actors, earn a better living than many, we continue to insist on saying to our children that there is no future in it!. I wonder why? And why do you have to be famous to be considered successful in your profession? The majority of lawyers and doctors in the world are not famous. However if we are developing a work that stems out of our soul, our need to evolve as human beings, that is being successful. The sole obligation that we have with ourselves is to discover and promote that special something that we all brings with us, which is necessary and useful for our development and our society and NOT try to do what is dictated to us by others(family, culture).
Last night, to be in alignment with this wonderful energy of Sagittarius, I decided that I would concentrate in the wisdom of the Tarot (something that i haven’t done before properly), this incredible system of symbols that is available to us to open our minds to other dimensions, where we know more than we think we know.
The magic that it is involved in shuffling and picking cards, just those perfect cards, which contain the symbolism that explains beyond our comprehension at times, what it actually happening to us, the kind of situation we are involved in, show us this extraordinary ability that we have that we call magic, simply because we do not have or do not understand the process we use to be able to do that. And this has nothing to do with trying to “see” or “guess” the future, but to understand the present in full. As Jodorowsky says and I absolutely agree with him: If you use the Tarot cards or Astrology (I add) to predict the future, you become a charlatan. These two extraordinary system of symbols are not for that. Tarot and Astrology and their symbolism are to understand the present in all its dimensions, the ones we are aware of and those we are not aware of. The astrologer and Tarot reader, should read these symbols that enrich our daily experience, so we may understand better our inner hero and his journey through life.
This Moon in Sagittarius opens us doors to new philosophies, new ideologies, to finally accept that everything is is crumbling (thank God!), so that what’s new and renovated may arise. This lunation coincides with many important aspects to asteroids that represent different aspects of the feminine: Juno is a conjunction to the Sun and the Moon in Sagittarius and as I said before also aligned with the Galactic Center, at the same time it opposes Ceres, the great mother, and form what we call a T-square to Pallas, the intellectual and warrior woman, who is mother and Virgin, which becomes the focal planet of this important and dynamic aspect. Vesta, next to Jupiter and also opposed to the Sun and the Moon. Do not read this as a resurgence of the feminine against the masculine, but as a possibility of union of these two aspects of our psyche, so that, we can integrate these two parts in order to feel whole. We must let go of the religions that have eliminated the feminine, because these are old-fashioned and outdated concepts. We should feel pity for the Taliban young boy who shot Malala Yousafzai, the 14 year old girl who defended in Afgnistan education for girls. How can we instill in our children such hatred? What kind of life has this boy had, who without knowing why, is still channeling the hate of previous generations?
We are men and women, we’ve all had, or come from men and women of our past, and we cannot separate this memories form our ancestral DNA. Fortunately Neptune and Chiron in

PISCES, will help us, to deeply understand the concept that despite the geographic boundaries, we are all ONE and what affects one, affects us all. Without this concept, Astrology would not be possible and although scientists want to explain everything with equations, before that is possible, we must first find the thesis in our hearts, in the depths of our psyche, in this place that the Greeks called Olympus and in which all live, even without realizing it.

This upcoming New Moon and Solar Eclipse in Sagittarius on November 24th and 25th, will be seen only from the Antartic region in their long summer days and also in New Zealand in the evening.

In this new moon, the Sun, the Moon and the North node, Mercury and Venus are in Sagittarius, forming a strong constellations of energies from this sign. Mars, now well into Virgo from November 11th, makes a square to the lunación and an opposition to Chiron in PISCES, thus forming a T square with the new moon. What does Mars and Quirón in opposition say?, it’s a bit as if a cosmic finger poking into the deeper wound and confronting us with the need of healing it..

Chiron is an asteroid that moves around the Sun between the orbits of Saturn and Uranus, therefore it is generational. Chiron speaks not only of personal, individual wound but also the transgenerational, meaning the madness or daimon we carry, without realizing it, unconsciously keeping true to the family madness. As the choices of profession, partner, health, etc. And I am not speaking only of the  cultural conditioning, though this is also very relevant, but of the collective family unconscious, as Jung would call it. Although Freud was the fist one to say: “the archaic heritage of human beings, comprises not only disposition but also subject matter, – memory traces of the experience or earlier generations”

Therefore Chiron in our chart, especially if in contact with the Sun, the Moon, Saturno, or the 4 or 10 or 12 House tells us how we express the family wound.

In the eclipse, the Moon for a brief moment hides the Sun’s rays, leaving in darkness some part of the Earth, as if to give us the impulse to seek within ourselves, with the lantern of instintual wisdom, what are the areas that we must heal, to keep progressing in our journey.

At times, even when everything is going very well, there are moments of melancholy that we can’t explain. We say: “I don’t have any reason to be unhappy and still, I am” usually Chiron is at the base of these feelings to help us explore our family memory, in order to understand our pain, bring it into consciousness and this way, dispel it.

Fortunately this new moon in Sagittarius gives us impetus to expand, to search, to overcome obstacles like no other. It whispers in our ears: “Go on, if you look, you’ll find,” “If you ask, you’ll get”.  There is much life and wonderful things happening out there, all the time”.

Sagittarius is an optimistic sign and a tireless seeker, “If happiness is not here, I will seek somewhere else for it”, says  Sagittarius.

Sagittarius and Chiron  are represented by the Centaur, half man, half horse. The man’s struggle with his part beast, and especially the lower half of the man, his sexuality.

We must not forget that Sagittarius is the sign that comes after Scorpio, where we face our sexuality in earnest.

Sagittarius invites us to study, to investigate, it lifts us spiritual and philosophically, it shows us that there is something else in our nature apart from the beast.

If you want to know more about the transgenerational memories, I invite you to read: “The Ancestor Syndrome” of Anne Ancelin Schützenberger (don’t know the name in Spanish) or do a session of family constellation.

This is a great opportunity to find out what lurks in our past that stops us from being fully ourselves.

This is also the perfect time to travel for artistic reason or do projects with a foreign input, wherever we are.

Mercury stations retrograde on the night of the Eclipse, forcing us to introspection especially on matters we have been neglecting. Perhaps not the ideal time for financial decisions but as Venus moves to Capricorn this will change, and we’ll get the chance to face up to our real possibilities to improve our financial situation.

Eclipses make things happen, except that perhaps not the way we had planned it. Still, enjoy the Sagittarian optimism keeping your feet firm on the ground.

This is one of those occasions when Astrology comes alive with the force!! As we are experiencing the New Moon in Sagittarius on the doorsteps of Mercury stationing retrograde, another huge Air Space paralyzation send air-travel into a mayhem.

Just in case we had any doubts that Mercury rules traveling and communication, here we have the undeniable proof. In the second retrograde of this year we had the Ash Cloud which stopped air-travel all over Europe. This week end we are in the last New Moon of the Year, and the last Mercury Retrograde of the year. (You should read my other articles on this subject earlier in this blog).

The Moon encounters the Sun at 13º Sagittarius 28′, on December 5th at 5.35 pm , GMT.  There are not major aspect to the Lunation itself, except for Pholus conjunction and the alinement with the Great Attractor, at 14ºSag, this point of extreme electromagnetic attraction where many galaxies seem to be heading towards. Although we don’t understand fully what the Great Attractor is, it is a point in the Universe to keep track of. Pholus, which we have seen in other articles about Sagittarius is one the Centaurs which represent the Sagittarian spirit in its search for truth and in defense of what is right. But Pholus had a particular mission in his life, which was to guard the wine from the Centaurs to avoid the madness that ensued whenever they got drunk.

Sagittarius is the sign that brings our attention and consciousness toward everything that exist beyond our neighborhood. Beyond the space where we spend our daily life, beyond the limits of our country, our mind,  well into other cultures, other realms. Expands our physical and mental horizons so that we may learn about ourselves through the encounter with others, with the different. Sagittarius never stops in its search for the truth, where ever this journey may take him. It’s the traveller, the investigator, the adventurer, the philosopher, the teacher. To arrive is never the purpose of Sagittarius, but the journey is. Sagittarius represents the side of religion which has to do with our faith, in the sense that takes us beyond borders into uncharted territories.

Jupiter, ruler of Sagittarius, and absolute King of the Gods in Roman and Greek Mythology (Zeus), makes an interesting contact to Juno and Pallas, two of the  asteroids between Mars and Jupiter. These two represent two aspects of the feminine, in apparent war with one another. Juno or Hera is the wife of Zeus and Pallas Athena is the daughter. The latter was born of her father’s head without a mother. Juno is the symbol of the “wife” and the power that this position grants her as head of the family, and Pallas represents the intellectual woman, single mother who does not marry and does not belong to any men. Two aspects of the feminine that we women seem to have difficulty in integrating in our lives harmoniously. Although, more and more, wives seem to be keeping their independence and careers in spite of being married. How to integrate these two aspects of our psyche and by no means an exclusive territory of women, could be one of the challenges of this New Moon in Sagittarius. Just today I saw in CNN the new of a christian woman in Pakistan, who has been condemn to hang for blasphemy against the prophet Mohammed. Can you believe it? Still, that’s where we are.

Just after the New Moon on December 6th, Uranus stations direct, making its way forward once again, on its way to the meeting with Jupiter for the last time in the sign of Pisces. This aspect reminds me of Bob Marley, when he used to sing: ” Emancipate yourself from mental slavery”… And what a great opportunity for it this is!. Time to say good bye to ideologies and beliefs that chain us to live life as if we were separate entities, instead of being part of the human race. Look what that kind of mentality has taken us to. To keep killing each other in the name of God. But it also reminds me of Stephen Hawking’s latest book ” The grand Design” when he says, there is no need of a god like figure to figure out how something can sprout from nothing, and form what we call the World. What a great book!

Uranus has been in retrograde motion since July 5th, and we should feel this motion forward inside of us as an impulse to free ourselves of mental patterns, created by our insecurities and doubts,  that sabotage our progress and our development. The message: “Go for it!!!” Dare to do what your heart is asking you to do!. Creative freedom is essential to Uranus, and specially in Pisces, and even more so in aspect to Jupiter. Dare to move away from known territories and into the unknown.

As Mercury approaches is station retrograde on the 10th, but well into its shadow zone, air travel is sent into chaos again due to bad weather in Europe and to a strike in Spain, just as it happened in the February retrograde when the Ash Cloud from a volcano in Iceland, stopped all flights for weeks. Each retrograde last about 3 weeks, let’s see how this one develops. One thing is for sure and that is that we now know, that every time that Mercury goes retrograde we encounter these kind of situations. Mercury stations retrograde at 5º Capricorn and will dip back into Sagittarius between the 18th and January 12th. It will station direct at 19º of Sag on December 30th, just for the New Year and it will return to 5º Cap on January 17th. In its retrograde it will contact Mars and Pluto on Dec 13th-14th, and perhaps is this triple conjunction that marks the spirit of this retrograde when the need to revise our commitments, especially our written ones in the form of signed contracts, insurances, will have to be renovated or simply changed! Pay attention at the events around this time and you’ll have a clear picture of what needs to be changed or renovated in your life.

Keep your mind and your heart open and dare to expand your horizons even if your flight is delayed.
