A journey into the realm of Gods, Goddesses and the human heart

On the 19th of this month, Saturn stations retrograde at 11th Scorpio 32′, until July 8th, when it stations direct at 4 ° Scorpio 49′. This is the only retrograde  of Saturn this year.
Mercury, on the other hand, turns retrograde 3 times a year and each retrograde motion lasts for about 3 and a half weeks. The 23rd of this month, makes its first retrograde cycle of this year. The second will be on June 26, until July 20 and the third and last, will be October 21 through November 10.
Mercury (which really means or derives from the word merchant), the Messenger of the gods or Hermes, for the Greeks, as well as being responsible for carrying the souls to the Underworld, to Pluto, was the one to be believed to have written the history of the gods. This little planet, almost about to be swallowed by the Sun, governs the affairs of the  3rd house of the birth chart: communication, the internet,  everything that we use to communicate, phones, writing, poetry, the left side of our brain, our ability to reason and understand. Mercury has been in pre “shadow” face  from February 8, which marks the beginning of this retrograde motion about to start, which will last until March 18. Its after shadow face, after stationing direct will last until April 6. Mercury makes this retrograde in the sign of PISCES, surrounded by a stellium of planets is the sign of the fishes that swim in different directions, with Neptune, the Sun, Chiron, and Mars which is in conjunction to Mercury, aspect that will be exact the 25-26, just in time for the Full Moon.
These two very different retrograde motions of Saturn and Mercury, have something in common, and if you look at the area of your birth chart, where  these retrogrades occur, you’ll find issues that need your REvision, Re-consideration or even complete Re-novacion. Sometimes a RE-paration is not enough, there are situations that must be RE – built, RE – invented, to obtain the desired results. The retrograde of Saturn has to do with Scorpio and the House 8, in addition to the personal theme, depending on what House of our birth chart is affected, or is the actual territory  of this RE-verse motion of Saturn. As I have said many times before, the issues of  the 8th House, as well as sexuality, transformation and death, which are more abstract concepts, are also our debts, our dependence on other people’s money, mortgages, inheritance, unemployment, credit cards, pensions, etc. As for Mercury, this very important and first retrograde of the year, takes place in the sign of Pisces and therefore the archetype and territory of the 12th House . What is that which we believe separates us from the rest? What does it really mean “secret enemies”?. As the second House , represent the possessions of the representative of the  1st house, in the same fashion the 1st House,  is the possessions of the representative of the House 12, and who is represented in this House? What really possess us? Our ancestors, our culture, our connection with everything that existed before us, where we come from and what we trying of “RE-pair”. What is that which possess us without us even being aware of? Our beliefs, our mentality colored by the culture that grew up in, everything that we do because “It has always been done that way…”, everything we do without  even asking ourselves if we really agree with it. What are those voices that we unconsciously listen to  even when we sleep and condition every decision we make?
These two retrogrades, by two very different planets, that occur almost at the same time,  mark a territory of our psyche, a situation we must RE-evaluate, to see if we are being, who we really are, or a simple expression of family and cultural conditioning. And while with the retrograde Mercury, we can expect losses of mobiles, hard drives, important information (format all important info), that email, which we should reply to and can’t find, etc, etc. Yet  the most important thing is what we must find within ourselves, to be able to strengthen our consciousness and our inner wisdom.
On 25 February  we have the full moon  in Virgo at about 7 ° 24′, since the Sun has already entered PISCES from the 19th. Venus enters PISCES, a few hours later.
This Moon forms a T-square with Jupiter at  7º  Gemini 28′. The Sun is in trine to Saturn and the Moon, of course,  in Sextile. The Moon also forms a trine to Pluto. These are very interesting times for the Water signs, Cancer, Scorpio and Pisces, and also for Virgo. A more philosophical view of the current situation is possible, with an ability to REflect on current situations. An intense desire to RE-consider invades us and we understand that although we sometimes are in the hands of these powerful energies, (as in the case of Oscar Pistorius), we must do what we can to FORGIVE, and above all BE THANKFUL for what we have. Piscean energy often leads to victimization, therefore consciousness of our responsibility in the development of our Fate, is vital at the moment. The end of the reign of this Pope, is an incredible representation of a Full Moon in the Pisces-Virgo angle, now that Neptune is in Pisces for the first time in our lives. Fist Pope to REsign, sounds like a contradiction in terms, (RE-SIGN and yet he’s leaving), in the past 600 years or so.
So, what is coming to an end in your life, what is that you need to RE-vise, to RE-pair, to RE-structure?
Although things do slow down in retrogrades, be sure to get the best our of the indications of the Cosmos, and REvitalize your life. RE-engage with it!

After 29 years, Saturn finally enters Scorpio, for the next two and a half years, exactly until 24 December 2014 when it’ll move into Satittarius until June 15, 2015, when it’ll dip back into Scorpio for the last time, until 18 September 2015 when it will enter for a second time Sagittarius, to stay there for the following 2 and a half years.
Saturn has not transited Scorpio since 1983 when it entered this sign holding hands with Pluto. These two powerful archetypes in the sign of sexuality, regeneration, shared finances, death, self-analysis, hidden desires, confronted us, specifically at that time, with AIDS, which changed the sexual behaviour of many forever. The first cases became apparent to us about those years of Saturn in Scorpio, with the death of Rock Hudson, in 1985, the first celebrity that would be affected by this disease.
This time, although Saturn and Pluto are not together, they are in mutual reception, since Pluto is in the sign of Capricorn, ruled by Saturn and this one enters Scorpio, sign ruled by Pluto. This quality tends to grant some harmony to the two planets that seem to operate with more affinity than usual. Both planets seem to act more powerfully, activating the corresponding archetypes more intensely. Scorpios and Capricorns will feel this effect more dramatically than most signs.
In the past 10 years the mutual reception between Neptune (in Aquarius) and Uranus (in PISCES) has transformed our lives with the advent of the Internet and social networks, which changed the way we relate to each other for ever. A logical consequence, if we think that it came about right after the years of panic with the Aids virus.
If you are older than 30 years, you can look back into your life, to try and remember what was happening 29 years ago. For all those with precarious knowledge of astrology, Saturn is much like the “bogey-man”.It simply scares us, the though of it approaching after years of bad publicity. However the look should be directed to the area where Saturn will transit through the next three years, cautiously optimistic, that it is there, where we will learn important lessons and resolve vital issues for our development.
We will only to see the difficulties, constraints, increased responsibility that can bring us,if we look at it from a superficial stand point, but if we look from the soul, we know that the lessons that we have been putting off, will be knocking at our door.
We will feel, sometimes unconsciously, that there are certain areas of our lives that need our attention so that we can accomplish much more and gain self-respect. Saturn demands absolute honesty from us, we cannot fool ourselves any more, the mirror returns us an image stripped of roses and fairies and we see ourselves as we are. Yes, admitidamente, this aspect of the transits of Saturn is the least appealing, especially if you have more than 50 years old. Interestingly, Saturn has an incredible sense of humor, and a slight smile appears when we can laugh at our problems and “defects”. In reality, Saturn becomes unbearable only when we refuse to accept the lesson that brings us, when we avoid change, or when we insist that things are left as they are, even when it is obvious that no longer work. Saturn helps us to resolve, to deal with situations that we normally want to escape. For example: growing up, become adults, take charge of our finances, our studies, comply with the law, pay off debts, sell, build, reform a family property, pay traffic fines, pay taxes, take care of children, parents, deal with the pension.
During its passage through Libra which is about to end, we have seen endless meetings in Davos to be able to take control of the financial crisis that started with the entrance of Pluto in Capricorn which coincided with the fall of Lehman Brothers, and its consequence in the world. Saturn entered Libra at the end of 2009, when relations between the countries of the European union, have not ceased trying to find diplomatic solutions to many issues. With Saturn in Scorpio, the conversation will be about shared money, international debts, taxes, and tax havens. Spain just raise VAT to 21%, I imagine that the immediate reaction to this will begin to be noticed when Saturn enters Scorpio. The money in tax havens will be affected, particularly, with resolutions that put more restrictions to them, I imagine, Scorpio has the ability to bring out the dirty laundry of any situation, as its ruler Pluto, therefore the money in fiscal edens and its true origin, will be one of the themes of this transit. The fight against sexual slavery will be more intense and many Governments that close an eye to it and many “vocational and professional pimps” will meet with the law behind them (hopefully). Scholarships grants for students will be affected also. These and many more are issues that we can expect with this passage of Saturn through Scorpio.
At a personal level, the cardinal signs can breathe and fixed signs are who will be more intensely affected. Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius, must assume that these will be serious moments in their lives with topics asking for resolution without the possibility of being postponed, for later times.LATER has arrived, it is NOW.
Saturn enters Scorpio forming a trine to Neptune, which fills us with hope and the possibility of seeing a real solution to our desires. It will also do so with Chiron and later, from June 2013, will be a series of trines to Jupiter, which will give positive impetus to the water signs in particular. Cancer and Pisces, have a wonderful opportunity of resolution in a less conflictive way, the harvest of the effort towards a goal, can see its fruits. Saturn is often called the Lord of Karma and although I don’t think that it’s its unique privilege, is true, that when we are under the transit of this planet we confront decisions and actions taken 7, 14, 21, 29 years earlier. The result of our actions become evident and we must confront the fact that we make mistakes, we have decided poorly, without sufficient knowledge. Although all of this may sound negative, it is not, but, yes, it is hard. If you are a personality strongly Neptunian, with this very important planet in your chart, in contacts with the Sun, the Moon, the ASC, the MC, etc, then the Saturn transit to those points, may will feel quite challenging.
Those born between August 1957 and December 1970, i.e. the generation of the 60′s, when Neptune transited Scorpio, also will live moments of real confrontation with the reality of their lives. The opportunity from Saturn to Neptune is about “making one’s dreams reality” in its most positive manifestation, but it is also a severe fall of Eden, if you’ve been living only in psychological paradise, i.e., escaping reality. This once again is a powerful healing process, if you take advantage of the lesson. These are moments of a deep look at the world of Neptune, our experience of this archetype that holds the key to the inspiration and our creative source, but also what may lead us to a psychiatric hospital. If we do not have a technique or a work done in the past that allows us to realize and channel our creativity, we can easily fall into the victimhood, fatalism, the ancestral madness or ancestral memories that we do not handle consciously.
For those born between the end of August 1983 and November 1985, will now have their first return of Saturn, one of the most important crisis in our development. Those who are now between 27 and 30 years, Saturn completes the first loop around the Sun, since they were born, and it is a critical time for vocational guidance, making decisions that will give shape to their working lives, their family life and everything that implies responsibility, awareness, exercise of authority and the structuring of oneself as an individual, as part of a community. The decisions taken at this point in our life, are some of the most important in our journey on this planet and this incarnation.
For those born at the end of October 1953 until the beginning of October 1956, it is the second Saturn return coming. I.e., when Saturn returns to its natal position for the second and possibly last time in a life. This cycle is rather more liberating than the first, but even so, as it is characteristic of this archetype, taking responsibility for actions and decisions of the past, especially those taken in the first return of Saturn, become more obvious than ever and great lessons of humility and acceptance enrich this period of life. Possibilities to rectify and make peace with situations that have been unsealed, appear on our desk. The care of the sick, family parents in discord, sale or purchase of properties are possible, the death of one or both parents is also possible if this has not happened before and the consequent issues of inheritance.
Saturn is Cronus in Roman mythology, the God of Time, of our time on Earth, with their difficulties, their conditions, their responsibilities. Birth is a Saturnian event, as it is becoming father or mother in order to stop being a child. The development of the internal authority versus being under the tutelage of others, is the Saturnian archetype in action. We should not fear Saturn, everything that brings, albeit difficult, it is a cosmic gift. One more chance to rectify, build, learn, free, express fundamental issues of our life. Without it, the soul will feel that is a waste of a life.
Don’t waste this energy by fearing it or denying it. Let it flow and go with it. The lesson that we cannot control everything is big with Saturn transits. We must prepare ourselves and work hard and then let it flow.

It has been a while since I’ve written in English, since my Spanish blog seems to be taking most of my time. But I didn’t want to finish this year without few words about what we have been through and what is to come, planetary wise.

Since the big cardinal T-square has been taking place, from the middle of 2010, we had our great share of change. Europe finances have gotten worse, Tunisia, Egypt and Libya have had revolutions that have brought anxiety and profound change, not only to the region, but to the world at large. But all this started really in the beginning of 2008 when Pluto entered Capricorn for the first time and then during 2009, when Uranus in Pisces made an opposition to Saturn in Virgo activating that opposition of the 60’s which happened the other way around with Uranus in Virgo and Saturn in Pisces, kind of sending that generation born in the 60’s into a real journey of self analysis and introspection willingly or unwillingly.

We all tried desperately to stick to what we had,  knowing unconsciously that the big changes were coming and that that will mean a period where we will reach a point of no return. Curiously there are still people that think: ” Oh well! Things never really change…” Hellooooo!!!!!! what dimension are in?

The square of Uranus and Pluto once again coincided with historical moments of revolution and revolt. We know by now that the last time we had a similar T-square involving Uranus-Saturn and Pluto was in 1927-1930 for the Great Depression. This time around we had a big Recession and we are still in it. At least in Spain, where I live now. In the 60’s when Pluto and Uranus were conjuncted in Virgo and Saturn opposed them for a while around 1965, we also had the Vietnam War and great moments of revolts in the States, in France and various other countries.  But in 2012 and exactly as from June, the square of Uranus in Aries to Pluto in Capricorn will be in full swing until 2015. Whatever is outdated and still standing up will come down with a force. Unfortunately sometimes literally, which might mean more earthquakes and explosions of some sort. We also need to take into consideration that from now until June 2012 we will be experiencing a Grand Trine  of Jupiter in Taurus to Mars in Virgo and to Pluto in Capricorn, which will somehow make us feel more optimistic, due to some financial improvement that we may experience in that period, making us think that the big changes are over and that we are on our way to recovery, but we must really wait until this Pluto-Uranus square is well over, before we can jump up and down and start spending again. I really don’t want to sound negative nor I pretend to know what is going to happen, but what is true is that unexpected event which are life changing are still coming our way. Nothing wrong with that, except that the uncertainty could be quite stressing and disconcerting. At the same time, I personally think that all these changes were well overdue, so I am quite happy to be part of this historical period. Still, I don’t dream that what needs to be corrected and the years of abuse of the classes in power, will happen in my  life time, but i certainly hope it happens in my daughter’s life time. Am I being too optimistic?

Well, since I am an incorrigible optimistic, I think that all these changes happening now are taking us to better places. One thing is clear. There is no way we can allow the death of millions of children for lack of water or food, as it happens everyday,  when some part of the population live with excessive wealth, that they will never spend in 2 or 3 lives. There should be food for all of us if we just organize ourselves properly. Don’t you agree? And we can allow these people that we elect to represent us, to spend our money in their own benefit. I guess I am also an incorrigible Uranian person which means that the slavery of people, especially women and children still going on, sickens me greatly.

The cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn) lives will remain challenging during 2012, yet there seems to be some kind of light in the horizon. For those born on the first 15 days of each of these signs, things are well on their way to recovery if you are prepared to deal with the fact that things still will be on “changing mode” as the Pluto-Uranus square will continue to affect the 8º to 11º of these signs for the next 3 years.  2012 is the year that starts with the retrograde of Mars in Virgo, meaning that instead of spending 2 month in this sign, as it usually does, it will be in Virgo until the 3rd of July, putting some  pressure and great upheavals to Gemini, Sagittarius and Pisces, especially. But Mars is only negative when we don’t live an active life. The best way to operate under a square of Mars is to become aware  of what annoys us and deal with it. If you try to be “nice” all the time, then you will get the worst of Mars. It is about getting things done. Fast and efficiently.

On February 3rd, Neptune will finally move to Pisces for the next 14 years, it will enter Aries on January 2026. Those people with planets in the early degrees of Gemini-Virgo-Sagittarius and Pisces will feel the call of Neptune to visit the world of Utopia, the Olympus, the Source. How each of us handle this kind of experience will decide if this is a positive or a negative thing in our lives. Neptune temps us to stay “there”, how we used to call it in the seventies when we were high, visiting the realm of Neptune. “Being there” meant that place where things are as we would like them to be. Where we can be who we want to be. Where we don’t need words to communicate. Creativity that doesn’t need expression, total union with Source, books without words, paintings without paint, on the positive side, but also the terror of unwelcome visitors, characters we can’t manage, who may torture us from beyond, from a distant past that we can’t explain. Neptune may mean temporary madness, as the more Dionysian side of it becomes active. Our imagination takes over and we find it really difficult to see reality, whatever that might mean at the time. If you have a creative outlet for your imagination, then you might experience your most creative period, still putting down in paint or words or movement, might be always disappointing, since nothing will ever be like in our imagination.

On a positive note, Neptune in Pisces (read my article about it on this blog) might mean a period when we all become increasingly aware that we may have the possibility to change the world and help each other, rather than continue saying :”Oh well, nothing ever changes” .  If  only we could forget our differences and cling to the feeling that WE ARE ALL ONE… If Neptune in Pisces doesn’t do that I don’t know what will. the New Moon in February 21st will mark the beginning of this cycle since the lunation happens at 2º Pisces in conjunction to Neptune at 0º.

March will see the Grand Trine of  Mars in Virgo, Venus-Jupiter in Taurus and Pluto in Capricorn, all at around 9º, so for those with planets in those signs it could be a truly positive month when things suddenly get a boost of positivism and great possibilities. Saturn will finally leave Libra to enter Scorpio on October 5th and will remain there till December 24th 2014. Saturn enters Scorpio forming a trine to Neptune in Pisces. This could be a very healing aspect as Saturn gently reminds Neptune of what needs to be brought to reality. This trine is already active now, since they are are a trine distance at the moment in spite of Saturn being in Libra.

Hope you had a nice Christmas and I wish you a very Happy New Year!  With Jupiter already in direct motion, some kind of optimism should be reaching us all.
