A journey into the realm of Gods, Goddesses and the human heart

So here it comes THE Full Moon of the year! Not only because is another SuperMoon (Moon at perigee or point closest to the Earth), second one of the year, but because it happens right at the Spring equinox or 0º of Aries and in conjunction to Uranus at 0º Aries, which means that the Moon will oppose Uranus, right after the Full Moon picks, and then the Sun will make a conjunction the following day.

It probably would not have meant much in another time in history, but given the situation in Japan, the Nuclear Plant out of control, the coastal towns hit by the tsunami still in a mess, it just sends a cold feeling down my back. Especially for the high tides that this moon will send to the coast, especially now after the tsunami probably erased most the coast.

Although we do not know if there is a relationship between the energies of Uranus with Uranium, the fact remains that there is danger of more  explosions in the Fukushima Nuclear Plant, and there is a lot of Plutonium and Uranium in it.

I could not imagine a more literal expression of Uranus in Aries than all this Uranium about to explode.

Do we really need this lesson to pay attention to the dangers of nuclear power? or to realize the dangers of not having the whole thing under control in case of accidents like this?.

This Full Moon becomes full at 29º of Virgo-Pisces which form a Grand Cross with the Lunar Nodes, another important point if we take into consideration that when there is a New or a Full Moon in conjunction with the Nodes we get an Eclipse. The  last degree of any sign brings with it the idea of a transition, a turning point, a moment in time when we realize that something is coming to an end and something new is about to be born.

I imagine that with everything is going on at the moment and with the advantage of all the media coverage as it happens and the technology involved in it, we now have the privilege of becoming aware of it all in a massive scale, so that we ALL see what is happening and have no excuse to remain ignorant.

And if you think there is nothing we can do about it, think again. Just becoming aware of it and making moves to question these big companies and governments is a lot. A good opportunity to stop being driven like cattle.

As it happened in the Golf of Mexico, once again our arrogance becomes obvious. We can build these big plants but what happens when mother Nature sneezes? We can´t manage! So we need to think again.

If WE could vote around the world to see if we want nuclear energy, the answer will probably surprise everyone. Do you want it? Do you want the risks involved in getting energy that way?

We tried it, but the price to pay is too high. isn’t it?

Saturn in Libra opposes Jupiter and Mercury in Aries, speaks of the awareness of the high price to be paid for our technological advances and the risks we take, and Ceres, in exact conjunction to Neptune at 29º Aquarius, with Chiron at 2º of Pisces, reenforces this feeling that we are ONE with the Earth, and unless we respect it and stop risking so much, we will not be able to stop these terrible events, when so many people  die.

Everything seems to indicate that the electromagnetic force of this Full Moon will be overwhelming!

In our stubborn insistence in finding a correlation between what happens in the Cosmos and how it manifests down here, it is very difficult not to worry about what it might happen this week end.

For those who think that the end of the world will happen at the end of 2012, tell that to a japanese person of the affected area, when all his/her life has been swept away by last friday’s tsunami. For many of them, that was the end of their world, not something they will forget anytime soon.

I am quite tired of listening about 2012, as if the BIG CHANCES will happen then. Look around, they are already happening NOW. We don’t need to wait until December 21st, 2012.

We can help in the process if we just spoke up and loud about these matters.

We need to have more regulations about when it comes to Nuclear Power and Energy.

We can ALL do it. We are already doing it. Let’s continue doing it!

The dignity and wisdom that the Japanese people have shown to the world is overwhelming. What a message to the rest of us.

I have actually lived in Sendai, about 30 years ago, for a about 6 month. What it was a coastal town is now a city with 1 million people. Why do we have to build towns and nuclear plants in Earthquake’s risk areas?

It’s beyond me!

This Full Moon is a attention call for many of us and especially for those with planets in the mutable (Gemini-Virgo-Sagittrius-Pisces) and cardinal signs (Aries-Cancer-Libra -Capricorn). Whatever happens this week end ahead, don’t discard it as just a simple good or bad week end, read between events and feelings and learn. This is an important one! It might open doors in you mind that will help you and us.

If you read carefully my previous article on the Moon in Sagittarius and Mars in Aquarius, you will see that I was talking about the possibilities of people coming out onto the streets to protest and try to get rid of outdated corrupt government figures.

This is exactly what happened as the New Moon, when the Sun and the Moon are conjunct (0º), this time in Aquarius and with the proximity of Mars (God of War and Sex) in this most revolutionary 11th sign of the Zodiac. First was Tunisia (just as Mars moved to Aquarius by the time of the Cancer Full Moon) and two weeks later,  Egypt, and today people were out in the streets of Albania too.

There are several elements at play here, that have made this possible. Since Pluto moved into Capricorn at the beginning of 2008, when the Lehman Brothers fell and the financial crisis officially started, there has been one after another, cases of Heads of State either dying or being assassinated or being forced out of their position of power. Like  Fidel Castro who officially announces his resignation as President of Cuba on February 19th, 2008, the president of Mauritania is deposed in a military coup d’état in August, and Musharraf resigned as President of Pakistan also in August; Prime Minister of Japan Yasuo Fukuda resigned and so did  President Thabo Mbeki of South Africa, in September. Barack Obama won the American Elections in November, and is elected the 44th President of the United States of America, the day of the exact opposition of Satun to Uranus, which marked the end of the Bush Administration and the beginning of the   Presidency of the First  African American President in the USA. That was great!

In 2009, in January, Prime Minister Geir Haarde of Iceland resigns, in March, President of Guinea-Bissau, Joao Bernardo Bieira is assassinated; also in March The president of Madagascar is overthrown in a coup d’état. In April former president of Peru, Alberto Fujimori is sentenced to 25 years in prison for  ordering killings and kidnappings by securty forces; former President of South Korea, Roh Moo-hyun, under investigation for bribery commits suicide. In June, President  Manuel Zelaya of Honduras is arrested and forced to exile.

In 2010, after the terrible devastating earthquake in Haiti, 2 days before the Longest Annular Solar Eclipse that inaugurated the year, Tandja Mamadou, President of Niger is overthrown, in February. Also for the Full Moon of the  27th of February an earthquake followed by a  tsunami in Chile devastated the region killing almost 500 people. In April, the plane carrying polish President Lech Kaczynski crashed in western Russia, killing everyone on board. Nestor Kirshner, ex-president ( and probably the next)of Argentina died unexpectedly in October. All of this without counting ex presidents and head of state that have died out of the media focus, who were no longer in power.

But as the famous T-Square of July 2010 became more exact, the mood has become progressively more revolutionary as Uranus from Aries and Pisces, made the first square to Pluto in Capricorn, with Saturn (ruler of Capricorn) also in the equation from Libra. Enormous earthquakes have happened and thousands of people have died during 2010.

With Jupiter well established in Aries since the 22nd of January, and with Uranus coming into this sign and getting closer to the square to Pluto again, the winds of Freedom are blowing strong. Mars is the ruler of Aries, so with Jupiter in this sign, the natural tendency of Jupiter of the searching for truth beyond one’s boundaries is filled with martian strength and need for freedom of action. Mars in itself does not seek war, but if you try to stop it, or put an obstacle in its way, then it will.

And of course let’s not forget that Jupiter is still in conjunction to Uranus (THE revolutionary energy per excellence), and both in square to Pluto in Capricorn, so the winds of freedom are blowing strong especially over all those areas where freedom has been repressed by dictators. This is happening not only to countries but also to individuals with planets in the first degrees of the Cardinal signs (Aries, Cáncer, Libra, Capricorn).

Jupiter is the largest planet of our Solar System and the biggest broadcaster of electromagnetic energy and it impulses us to move out of our neighborhood and investigate what is beyond our borders. It fills us with optimism, sometimes too much of it. What is wonderful to watch about the crowds in Egypt is that they don’t seem to be afraid anymore to voice their opinion, and get out there and shout it out! It could only be with the help of Jupiter in Aries, that we can do that and not worry about the effect that it might have.

The last time that Jupiter was in Aries was in 1999, when the Euro was established, we had the Kosovo was at the time, and in this year The Federal Republic of Yugoslavia and Nato sing a peace treaty! Also the first version of the MSN Messenger was released by Microsoft.

What were you doing 12 years ago? and what was happening in your life? Jupiter will be joined in Aries by Uranus on the 11th of March.

Jupiter will remain in Aries until May 10th when it will move to Taurus!

Urano3On May 26th, Uranus, the 7th planet of our Solar System moves to the sign of Aries, after 83 years. The incredible thing about this event is that Jupiter, in Pisces then, as it is now, accompanies such entry, and by June 8th, there will be a conjunction (0º) of these two planets in the 0º of Aries. At that time, 1927, the conjunction occurred at 3º of Aries.

Uranus, from the astrological point of view, is the planet which represents the archetypes of the rebel, the fight against the establishment, technology, electricity, genius, eccentricity, the different, anything out of the ordinary, non conventional, uranium, the discovery of the new and the different. It takes seven year to go through each sign, which means that we’ll now have a period of seven years of Uranus in Aries, starting now. Coincidentally, a period similar to a quarter of Saturn’s cycle. No wonder that every 6 to 7 years things get revised in our lives. Think of your life journey and see how many things lasted just about 6 to 7 years before undergoing a major crises or ending all together, or 14 or 21 or 28.

Aries, is the first sign of the zodiac and the first fire sign. As Martin Schulman said in his wonderful Allegory of the Creation of the world and the Zodiac: – God said to Aries: – ” To you Aries, I give my seed first, that you, might have the honor of planting it. That for every seed you plant, one million

more will multiply in your hand. You will not have time to see the seed grow, for everything you plant creates more, that must be planted. You will be the first to penetrate the soil of men’s minds with My idea. But it is not your job, to nourish the Idea nor to question it. Your life is action and the only action I ascribe to you is to begin making men, aware of My Creation. For your good work I give you the virtue of Self Esteem.” – How wonderful! I wonder which Aries will not relate to that Fate! There is no doubt that Aries is the impulse to be the first. Aries, risks, competes, acts before thinking, argues, fights and defends with passion, its land, its territory and his family. He or she, is the warrior, the soldier, the athlete, the first one.

Jupiter, is the 5th planet of our Solar System and the biggest, and Astrologically is connected with Nature, with our ideals, our beliefs, with long distance travel, especially those which involve some kind of risk and adventure. Other cultures, the foreigner, philosophy, religion, whatever takes our body and our minds to expand our horizons. It is through this planet that we dare to expand and look for what is on the other side of the river, or the Ocean, in the next town, beyond our borders. It is Aries and Mars which initiate the action, but is Jupiter that takes the action elsewhere, beyond the known horizon. It is through Jupiter that we may dare to live according to our highest ideals.

So taking all this into consideration, let’s go back to 1927, when this conjunction that it is about to happen, last happened. The 1st ( Aries) transatlantic (Jupiter) telephone (Uranus) call was made between New York and London. In the Bell’s Co. the first images where sent long distance, and so Television was born. Only 2 year later the first programed TV was on in New York. The first sports commentary in Radio took place, the first spoken film “The jazz singer” was shown in NYC. Amelia Earhart was the first woman pilot to travel solo, across the Atlantic. The fist police woman is incorporated in the Police Force in Dresden, Germany, Jose María Escriva founded Opus Dei, the Academy of Film and motion Pictures was founded and the first Oscar was given.

It is easy to assume now, that great advances in technology will take place, as it is no doubts, already happening, is even possible that the first trips around the Earth with passengers will take place. Richard Branson has been working at this, very quietly.

Unfortunately, many great natural disasters also happened in those years. The great China earthquake where 200.000 people died, in May 1927, Floods in the Mississippi area, the biggest to date killed over 700.000 americans. Japan suffered 3 major earthquakes in less than two months in the same year. IT was in 1930 when Uranus and Pluto where already involved in a square that Wall Street crashed sending the world and the States into the biggest Depression in History, and guess what, Pluto was discovered at the same time.

We all know what happened after that, the emergence of the right wind governments and Nazism, that took us to the Second World War.

The question is have we learned the lessons of the past.? do we need to go through the same experience?

The Conservative party in England has just won the elections. Just. After 13 years of Labour Party reign. Curiously, Jupiter and Uranus where also in a conjunction in Aquarius, when Tony Blair, defeated the Conservatives and Now with another Jupiter- Uranus conjunction in Pisces, the Conservatives win, but only having to merge with the Liberal Democrats. HA! I think we have learned some lessons, otherwise this could have never happened. Nor Obama. It kind of gives me some hope. May be our stupidity learns some of the lessons after all. Saturn was then in Aries, in direct opposition to today’s position in Libra.

Since Pluto came into Capricorn in January 2008, which marked the beginning of the financial crisis, many heads of state have died, unexpectedly forcing the CHANGE.

We are now heading to the closest degrees, this T- Square is ever going to be at the end of July, around the 0º of the cardinal signs. The Uranus-Pluto square will repeat 7 times and it will last till 2016. If we take into consideration the fact that these two planets, are collective forces and represent collective archetypes which we can all relate to, then is easy to assume, that whatever changes are taking place is what we all, as a unit, need. Us, the only human race on the planet.

We know that with Pluto in Capricorn many institutions will suffer major changes as it is already happening. One of the systems that seriously needs our attention is EDUCATION. We keep talking about it, but nothing really happens. Being the mother of a 16 years old, with artistic inclinations and talents, the options for college are still slim. It seems that the only professions people still value are: Medicine, Law, Architecture, Engineering and University professors. When are we going to teach for all children?. Instead of calling all creative children ADHD and medicate them, because we don’t understand their minds.

When are going to teach Astrology, Dance, Cooking, Music along side and with the same relevance as Maths, English, Science and Literature? When? Until when are we going to suppress Uranus in our charts so that it has to react violently to be heard? Would this square between Uranus in Aries and Pluto in Capricorn, bring about this change in our educational system, or are we still too far away from that?

If you have in your chart any contact of Uranus to a personal planet (Moon, Sun, Mercury, Venus or Mars) you will understand what I mean. Especially women with this position will, because most of us come from mothers that had to give up their freedom, their profession or even find out if they had the right to one, in order to keep the family going. Sounds familiar? Until when we are going to condemn our creative children to become lawyers, so that by the age of 40, they are so depressed and unhappy that Prosac seems to be the only allied.

Uranus is about the freedom to create, to express what James Hillman calls, our “calling”. Here in Spain where I live, the dream of being true to who are is simply that, a dream. Here most children are taught not to waste time in dancing, or painting or writing because “doing that you will never earn your living”, but the truth is that many people do earn their living doing that. The fear of the risk implied in trying to be oneself, is too much, for some of us, and we pass on that fear to our children, who sure enough, they’ll soon say: “I must go and study marketing or business, or i will never make a decent living out of what I like”. Truth is, there are many young people with a Marketing Diploma, and without a job. We have limit their options so much, that the amount of lawyers that finish each year, cannot get a job.

So we seriously have to review our approach to education, and the structure of our educational system and expand our horizons. Seriously.

Another institution that needs reviewing is Traditional Medicine. We are in serious need to go back to healing the patient rather than fixing a part. We have turn our hospitals in body-shops. If a part of your body aches, you go to see a doctor that sure enough will either replace the part or prescribe a legion of medicaments that will help you with the pain. But what about the origin of the illness? What about the soul? What about looking into the eyes of the patient and establish a conversation to find out what is the matter with his life? The last two doctors i went to, were so busy using the time allotted to me filling up a form in their computer that forgot to look at me. But I did go out with prescriptions and i hardly opened my mouth. If this sound like criticism, it is. Imagine if we Astrologers did that!

So Uranus in Aries, does not have to be a bad thing. There is a lot of interesting propositions for this transit and for those of us, with emphasis in Cardinal signs in our birth-charts, we already are seeing its effect and the changes are already taking place. Uranus, albeit un-predictive , is truly liberating, and at the end of the tunnel, there is light, there is the perspective of meeting our true self and the opportunity to do what we have been born to do.
